HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's January already?!  Where did the time go?  I think I say that every month.  How can the last 30 days have passed so quickly?  Was I not paying attention?

Anyway, one of my resolutions is to finish writing my Nano.  I'm not prepared to finish and edit it in January, but I would like my characters to reach the end of the story.  If I don't, I think I owe shariware and ramblingallen coffee again. (How did you like the coffee you already won, by the way, shariware?).  While it would be nice to share some coffee with them, I think I'm ready to win one myself.  I think I might have about 20k more to write to reach the conclusion of the story.  The problem now is, I don't remember where I was when November left off.  I have to read some back story I think.  While the month of December seemed to fly by, it still feels like a long time since we finished Nano.

How about you?  Any writing resolutions for 2011?  Are you prepared to do Nano again in November?

  1. You can do it sis!! Thankyou both for the coffee - it will keep me going for a while thats for sure!! I had a laugh when mum gave it to me and I read the card lol! You can finish your story by the end of January and we are here to help motivate you. I will be formatting and reading through mine and I am sure there will be a lot of rewriting happening as well. Let's get this thing happening!!

    Love you!!

  2. I suspected I might find you here today. My writing goal for january is to find a place to end the first half of my story, I want to break it into two books and getting finished with this half before starting the next makes sense. So the goal looks like this.
    1. Find a place to end book one
    2. Rough edit book 1 by the end of the month
I hope we find some quality writing/editing time this month, much like November it simply has to be made a priority. Block out times and stick to them. Of course Im nearly always up for a write in. Speed challenges are a bit less relevent I suppose but we will find a way.
Given my gift for procrastination it would not surprise me if next NaNo I was writing book 2. Not sure how that works with the rules. I wanted to do something different this year but this particular project needs to be completed before I move on.
I intended to read a book in December and of course that didnt happen, perhaps in february.
See you guys soon, Happy New Year. I am very optamistic for 2011, it feels like a game changer to me...weird hunch I guess, so don't be surprised if I talk about it a bunch this year.
